BE Inspired: DisruptHR Roc 2024 was a Hit with Human Centered Innovation!

⚡️ So inspired by DisruptHR ROC!! What an innovative + invigorating event. Beyond empowered from everyone's talks! Still amazed I was accepted as a speaker. The entire #DisruptHRROC team is incredible, The Strong National Museum of Play is such an inspired setting. It's a true honor + a privilege to share the Paychex Theater stage alongside such an accomplished group of speakers, including our illustrious Emcee Adrian Hale!!

✨ Thank you to all of the volunteers + organizers! Especially Leanne Reed who made me feel incredibly supported + welcomed, Elina Kokorotsis who fosters this nourishment, + Caitlin Drago--an expert speaker and consultant--who introduced me to DisruptHR. And thank you very much to my Coach, Fred Dewey, who distills core messages into actionable talking points!! All the while encouraging me, every step of the way.

✨ My mother Peggy (Margaret) Wilcox, pictured here, is such a strong professional role model for me. My mother was an adult-learner who went back to college when I was around 1st grade. Just one week after being accepted on scholarship to the #ChemicalEngineer program at University of Rochester, she discovered she was pregnant with my younger brother.

✨ This woman overcame SO much to maintain her 3.0 scholarship and graduate as an accomplished ChemE. For example: she endured an emergency c-section, with my younger brother having to undergo surgery at only 3 weeks old ... while navigating finals like Diffy Q's (Differential Equations). Talk about #teamwork between her and my very supportive dad! I had the privilege of watching my mother walk the graduation stage!!! Now, she had an opportunity to watch me present on stage.

✨ My husband, hospital #hero + local author Dan Leicht, has also been a wonderful support. Working in surgery centers and hospitals--every single day of the #Covid crisis--my hubs ensured supply chain ran smoothly. All of this, only to come home and write 1-2 hours/day, after waking-up at 4:40am. He's a prolific and successful small town romance and Sci-Fi romance (the wholesome kind) author. So very inspired by his talent + commitment!!

⚡️ My talk?? #SelfCare ... what do you think of when you think of Self-Care? If you ask me (and my research), I #advise you to incorporate this * as part of * your workday. Ask Gemini or ChatGPT for advice about self-care at work! Involve your colleagues to become better acquainted with leveraging both. 💗 Remember: Self-Care and AI are resources, not replacements! Used constructively, these tools enhance our workday and keep us productive and well. Employee Engagement + AI = a Win Win! You can find more photos on LinkedIn, and watch for the recording!!

Cheers to being your best you! ✨
